SeaBerry is located on a hill overlooking the pristine village of Corea, Maine, on the eastern side of the Schoodic Peninsula.
Within walking distance of SeaBerry, you will find Corea harbor, oceanfront and woodland hikes, and outstanding biking and kayaking. It is a 10-minute drive from SeaBerry to the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park (where surf gazing is the favorite activity along with more hiking/biking options).
The Schoodic Peninsula is dotted with several villages offerring a range of dining, shopping, and browsing opportunities. Just across the bay (about an hour by car or ferry) are Mt. Desert Island, Bar Harbor, and the main section of Acadia National Park.
90 minutes up US Rte 1 are the Canadian Border, Campobello International Park, and more of the most gorgeous scenery on the eastern seaboard.
Corea is a place often seen on wall calendars and post cards, identified simply as "A Typical Downeast Maine fishing village" which it is not --- almost all the ones that used to look like Corea no longer do!
Corea really is a fishing village. It has a Post Office, a fisherman's co-op, an art/craft/book shop, a hair salon, and a wharf where you can sample our famous local seafood. The village is bordered to the north by 1000 acres of wildlife refuge and to the east, west, and south by the ocean. The shore is accessible in many places, so long beach walks, village walks/bike rides, woodland rambles, and kayaking, and are the most common "attractions" here.
Beyond its peaceful natural beauty, the region is a paradise for those who enjoy galleries, antique shops, restaurants, discovering local artisans, and truly dark skies. And all the fresh lobster you can eat, of course!
